Job switching...why not!

Some reasons why you are not getting the next big job that you are looking for?

Or why you are still stuck in the same job??

1. today's times are difficult. ps.ps. there are no new jobs. you should hold on to your existing job. that's what they want you to think (who are 'they'?)
2. you are just not good enough to get a new job. god only knows how you have survived in your current job. (lol - if you think the truth is always bitter, try lal toofan. the truth will taste better!!).
3. you really don't want to leave your current job. really...?? (admit it - you are in love - probably with someone on the job or the chair or your desk or the coffee vending machine - where else can you get free coffee)
4. companies are not ready to pay you what you want. you must be asking for a raise...!!!! (raise in today's times! that's only for CEOs who get paid a lot more money to make sure they pay someone who will plan how someone else will manage the people who will oversee what your superior asks you to do)
5. u are not ready to believe what companies think u r worth. they r actually offering to pay u less than what u get today. wow...!
6. companies are not offering the role you want. they want you to work (not everyone is superman! try wearing your underwear inside out - maybe that will take you somewhere!!)
7. you are not ready to accept the role companies want to give you. (really??? does my aptitude test say that i'm more suited to be a janitor?? dont' tell anyone what's being offered)
8. you don't like the work place where the company is located. there is no mcdonald nearby.  (come on, mac is so passe! use swiggy, foodpanda, etc - any of those apps to order your food. get a life and a new excuse).
9. you don't want to relocate to a different city. its just more work. (ya, more work for someone else. why would you care? you are never going to move out of your parents house).
10. it usually takes a few months to get a new job. and nobody believes you when you say that. (i believe in you and so does the sun, moon and the stars. but how does that matter?)
11. companies want you to join now and you have a release period of 3 months. isn't that a good thing? (if you can't survive anymore in this job, just walk out. right here, right now! btw - don't forget to pick up those balls that you dropped).
12. you still have faith in your organization. (mere karan arjun aayenge!!!) then why are you reading this...???

Ride the Vave

I really should start looking at the pattern of my blog postings. Somehow I seem to post during this time of the year.

Something about Christmas and new year's I guess!

So the last time I posted was in 2013. Long time no see. Well, the years in between were of the underachiever....! Now it's all about riding the VAVE...!!

So been there done that for most of 2013.   It was the end of 2013 that saw the first drop in the desert. 2014 was all about turning that into more than just drops and now its all about trying to turn on the tap.

The dream is always about riding the VAVE and we will surely get there. For now, its drop by drop....towards a greater future for all.

2013 - another beginning

As usual there has been a gap in my posts.

A quick summary...
-All in all 2012 was a very good year
-Switched jobs in dec 2012..moved to Infy
-Gettin all set to welcome the 4th member of my family...makin a list of baby names to choose frm (due:april end)
-Megha's busy tryin to close anvi's admission to Lkg...i'm not much help...as usual...!
-She's also busy finalizing the design on the makeover of the kitchen
-Anvi's gettin smarter n naughtier by the minute.
-Moma is all set in the USofA.
-Choma is busy studyin at glasgow.
-Wknds r gettin busier with friends
-Backlog of must see movies is gettin bigger n bigger
-Puttin the wheels in motion for a trip to disneyworld hk with friends n family either in dec 2013 or apr/may 2014.
-Me making a list of things to do..n tryin to do it...!!!!

Thts a lot for now
All in all 2013 is goin to be a very excitingn busy year.

Gandhi Jayanti

Another Gandhi Jayanti...2nd October and immediately most of us would say 'Dry Day'....I should have stocked last night. 

Like most national holidays that are there for reasons including observing a 'Dry Day', this one too has lost its significance. 

What do we remember from Gandhiji's ways, his thinking that gave us our freedom? How many of his teachings do we include in our daily life? 

I too have some of the same short comings that most of us have when it comes to following the right path (but I'm trying). Hopefully someday all this will change. 

The people who actually lived life in Gandhiji's era are most fortunate. And now we are living in another Gandhi's era. Are we still fortunate? If not, what are we doing to change? 

Another non-violent, non-cooperation movement?

Mangoes 5th.

I finally had the previlege of eating hapus after 5 years. It was one of those things that was best enjoyed a home. Loved the mangoes. Special thanks to megha for making sure I had my plate full each time I wanted to eat one.

Anvi n Megha also has there share this season. I'm very happy.

Now looking forward to the preservation process so we can enjoy the mangoes for a few more months.
